This is the best $50 I've spent in a long time. Worth every penny!!! I'm so happy. Now I can create my own private network anywhere to share and stream files. What's super amazing that for iOS (iPhone/iPad) devices this opens up the world. No longer are we limited to internal storage and iTunes!!! Finally our own portable file/media server! Now this thing is not perfect. I hope someone will read this and fix. The biggest problem is that the video player in the app is not standard on iOS therefore it's not perfect. I have ripped blurry movies which I've encoded to have both surround sound and stereo sound tracks. With this player the videos play without sound at all. Shame. ... But the way I got around it is by launching the web interface in mobile safari and that plays the video with sound. Still I wish I could do it in the app. Please fix! One other small note... The user interface and graphics in the web interface are old fashion looking and not very nice. Too bad... I am a web developer and would offer to redesign the user interface for free! That's how much I love this product. ... RavPower contact me if you want I will do it!!!
Such a versatile and convenient little device. I love being able to connect to it and manage my media files from my phone. And it's great that it works with both SD cards and USB devices. I've even found myself using its media browsing capabilities as an external storage source for entertainment on the go. And since it will provide backup power as well, it's not a difficult choice.
It gets the job done for 1/2 of what other companies charge for their hardware.
It does exactly what I wanted it for. To allow me to stream my converted from VHS Videos to my various devices. Make sure you have the right charging block for the device, or it runs down quick. 2amp output is what is required. The small size and portability allows me to hide it from the wandering eyes of my 15 mo godson. As many reviews state, the included app and software is only good for configuring it. Once its configured, its easier to map it as a network drive on my PC, and use ES File Manager on my Android devices to access the files.
So far so good. I purchased this product primarily for transferring my GoPro files from a micro sd card to an external hard drive. I like to pack very light when I travel and have been looking for an alternative to my laptop for transferring files. My first test was using a class 10 sd card that I purchased for my phone. I cannot remember the transfer rating of the card but it took me 26 minutes to transfer 15, MP4 files totaling 5 gigs. I then used one of my San Disk Extreme SD cards that I use in my GoPro. This time, the same files took 10 minutes to transfer. That means I can transfer a 32 gig card in about an hour. That's good enough performance for me to leave the laptop at home. The only reason I took a star off is because when I tried watching the GoPro videos, they were sluggish. Going in and out of normal and slow speed. Good enough to check if you got the footage but un-watchable otherwise. I tried watching them from the sd card and the hard drive with the same result. I do not know if this is due to the file type (MP4). When I watched movies with AVI format, they played just fine. I haven't tried nor have any use for the other features so I cannot vouch for them.
