I have an OtterBox Commuter, but I like this case better. The grip is better, the front edges on the SIDE of the screen are much more protective, and it is a bit less heavy. It feels as though it will protect the device very well. I would definitely recommend Edit: Wireless charging works with my charger that lies flat, but any of my stand up cradle type chargers, it doesn’t work
This case feels sturdy, but it’s too tight. It’s easy to get the phone in, but it’s almost impossible to get the phone out. It destroys every screen protector I put on the phone. While it does provide raised lips around the whole screen, it would be nice if it didn’t pry your screen protectors off. Update: After finally getting a decent screen protector, it seems to finally be holding up in this case. I haven’t dropped it, but I feel confident in this case. It’s sturdy and precise. For people who are saying the S-Pen is too exposed, I’ve put that corner against a flat table to see just how exposed it is. No matter what angle I put it in, the corner and S-Pen never touch the table. So, if you drop it right on the corner, the only way it would get damaged is if the surface you drop it on is uneven (e.g., gravel, etc.) I prefer this one over the UAG Monarch because of the raised lips around the screen and better corners. I’m leaving 1 star off because I think they should add a flap to cover the USB port.
This case is very tough. As a contractor it gets dropped almost daily from ladders etc. Has held up very well and no damage to my phone.
I have several different cases but this is by far my favorite. I love the style and the rugged look
