Older TV in a spare room doesn’t justify spending much to get it hooked up to a legit sound system, so a portable bar like this is the easy solution. 5-minute install, and you get more than decent sound with a few different options for game/movie/music/news. I'm using the optical hookup choice. Note: my TV needed to be set to PCM, Dolby Digital was causing a weird chirping on some streaming apps. This thing can get very loud, I commonly have it on volume of 4 and it goes to 16. One star off because the front display screen never sleeps. In my case, it shows OPTIC in big capital letters (it shows the last source input you chose). The screen reflects volume and equalizer setting changes, but then goes back to the static input source display. It dims slightly after a little time, but it's still annoying and visible (see photo).

I'll start of by saying that i rated the soundbar 5 stars because of its performance for the price. The sound is fairly clear and the bass is really good for being just a sound bar. The design is clean and the soundbar has Bluetooth for more input sources. The mounting brackets are easy to install and the soundbar sits on them very easily making it a quick transition between wall or shelf if you like switching positions. The addition of actual subwoofers inside the soundbar makes it less position dependent. The most common design for soundbars like these is to use passive radiators, a passive radiator is a dummy speaker that is used like a tuning port to make a sealed speaker box perform like a ported box. Passive radiators make smaller speaker enclosures have a way stronger bass, this is why small portable speakers today sound way better than older speakers of the same size. The issue with passive radiator speakers is that they are position dependent, you will get more bass if they are on a corner or on a shelf where the sound can bounce off the walls or surfaces. Since this soundbar has physical subwoofers, the bass will sound almost the same wherever its placed. I have a JBL soundbar that uses passive radiators and despite having great bass, the bass is greatly reduced if i mount it on the wall. This soundbar has great bass both on a shelf or wall mounted because it has a front port. The subwoofers have a good frequency for the size, they are described to go as low as 20Hz but realistically they go as low as 40Hz when testing using a bass sweep test sound. The soundbar has four equalizers, each EQ mostly changes the intensity of simulated multichannel surround (ill call the effect SMS for the rest of the review). SMS is common in two channel systems and is used to add a simulated 5 channel experience. SMS is not perfect and is sometimes better disabled depending on what you are watching. The main downside to SMS is that it adds an echo or large room/theater effect, which to some people might be annoying. Ill quickly describe the EQs. Movie has the SMS effect cranked to 100% but also adds more treble and bass, this effect might be people's favorite since it would be the popular V shaped tuning. Game has the SMS effect at about 60% and has reduced bass and treble. Music has SMS at about 20% while having the bass and treble slightly lower than Movie, News has no SMS and has no bass or treble but boosted mids, its the worst preset. I personally like using Movie for movies and Music for TV shows and music. Some minor inconveniences i noticed. The display doesent turn off all the way when on, the letters will dim but not turn off. There is also an annoying red light to indicate that the soundbar is off. The included HDMI cable also doesent fit if you mount the soundbar, the connector looks average sized so you would probably need an angled HDMI to use ARC HDMI if mounting. The benefit to using ARC HDMI is that it syncs the TV to the soundbar so the soundbar turns on when you turn on the TV and also lets you use the TV remote for the volume on the soundbar. If you are planning on mounting then it would be a good idea to order the cable at the same time. Another small issue i had is that my soundbar came with a small ding on the grill. Overall the soundbar is really good for the price, it sounds really good in a small room. It has a large soundstage and very good imaging probably because of its length. The full sound you get with the built in subwoofers also make it perfect for small living rooms or apartments where a side sub is not an option. Also, audio systems are described as (channels/speakers . subwoofers) this system is 2.2 because it has two speakers and two subwoofers.

Our old TV Soundbar was ten years old and we were getting tired of the fuzziness of the voices. I'd heard good things about TriBit, so I brought this one into our home. First off, it is much wider, but the set up with speakers firing on top and in the front make a big difference in how the sound spreads out. It also seems to have a much wider range of tone than the old one. The four EQ settings work really well. The Wireless Bluetooth function also works well as I can play music from my Tablet, etc. but the TV doesn't have that feature for speaker hookup. Hooking it up was a bit different as our old soundbar had two ARC HDMI ports. One for the HDMI in to the speaker system, and one out to the TV Monitor. This one only has one HDMI/ARC port, so I couldn't figure out how to hook up the TV to the Speaker if I wanted to use ARC. I was able to make use of the excellent small gauge optical cable provided in the box to hook up the TV. A master Power switch is located on the back of the case, near the AC IN port. The Soundbar also comes with a nicely sized, easy to operate remote that takes a couple of AAA batteries, not included. Once the TriBit is turned on, and the input form is selected -- in our case, OPTIC -- that word remains on the display screen on the front of the bar unless you change the sound setting or the EQ. It reverts back to that and although it does dim back after a minute or so, the remaining 1" high letters are a bit distracting when watching TV at night. See the image I shot in the morning. During the day they are not an issue with all the ambient light, but the only thing I can figure out to do is to cut a small piece of black sheet foam and lean it up in front of the display screen at night, once the volume and EQ have been set, as the foam blocks the remote signal. That's my only complaint as the sound is great. If you have a larger viewing room, it might not be an issue at all for you, so add a star!

I was so happy to see that they continued this level of quality with their sound bars. You have 6 actual drivers in this speaker that not only fire forwards but up as well. Love that they made the bass comes from actual powered drivers vs just passive ports that most sounds bars at this price point utilize. Not only do you get louder and more punchy bass but you can also mount them right against the wall and still get bass response. If they were just passive ports, having this speaker up against a wall would muffle the bass. The multi directional drivers also provide some fantastic separation in your sound and I think is a great compromise vs an actual 3.1 or 5.1 system. Simply put this is by far the best $119 sound bar I have ever used. Ever. In fact I'd be willing to put this speaker up against sound bars closer to the $199 - $250 price range. The sound is that good. I can't imagine anyone picking up this speaker for $119 and being disappointed in it's performance. In fact hen I got this speaker it was only $99 and at that price this speaker is simply a no brainer.

This thing has a big boom punch. It has a pretty strong sound and heavy deep bass that makes music and sports sound really good. I installed it on my wall mounted TV behind the TV so it is not seen from the front. It has a remote so you can adjust the equalizer setting but really you can just leave it on "movie" or "music" and either of those will sound good for every kind of content. My one issue with it is the auto shut-off. The speaker turns itself off after about 20 or 30 minutes without sound input. So if I pause my TV and go do a few things around the house, and come back, the speaker is powered off and I have to turn it on again. That's a little inconvenient but not a deal killer. I'd say it is about perfect for this price range other than that.

I'm terrible with losing remotes, so I'm very happy to see that everything can be controlled on the side of the speaker. It's feels fairly heavy. It's much bigger than I was expecting, and whatever they put in it really pumps out some loud audio. When I put it on Bluetooth and started playing music I had to turn the volume down as I figured it was on full volume. It was actually at 25%. That's exactly what I want because I'm using this in my shop and I want something I can hear while the equipment is running. The audio itself is pretty good. Even at high volumes the sound comes out nice and clear. Overall a very nice soundbar. Recommended.
